Privacy Policy
Template-based draft — not legal advice. Counsel review before go-live.
Effective as of (draft): October 25, 2026 · aligned with Terms v1.4
Michael Scott ("CallAround," "we," "us," or "our"), operating CallAround at https://callaround.app (the "Site" or "Service"), helps customers get out-the-door quotes from shops near their ZIP and lets shops opt in as partners. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information through the Site and related CallAround activities described here.
California / state privacy rights notice: See the State privacy rights section below.
1. Personal information we collect
Information you provide
- Historical waitlist contact data: email addresses previously collected for launch notifications (the public waitlist is no longer offered; we retain historical rows until you ask us to remove them).
- Account data: the email you use to sign in with an email login code; login-code and session security data (for example hashed one-time codes, session identifiers, expiry times); and quote-request history tied to that email when you use paid requests.
- Shop partner consent data: shop name (DBA), street address, city, state, ZIP, main phone, authorizing person’s name, title, email, services offered (for example tires / brakes / battery / alternator / other), the exact consent checkbox wording you agreed to, and related submission details.
- Communications data: emails or other messages you send us (including opt-out / do-not-call requests) and our replies.
- Quote-request data: email, ZIP, category, job description, and optional phone or vehicle details you submit so we can call opted-in shops. For paid quote requests ($4 via Stripe), we also receive limited transaction metadata from Stripe (for example payment status and session id); card numbers are handled by Stripe, not stored by us as full PAN.
We do not currently offer social login, public profiles, contests, or interest-based advertising on the Site. Customer accounts use email login codes only (no passwords).
Information collected automatically
When you use forms on the Site, we (and our hosting provider) may collect:
- Device / network data: IP address, user-agent / browser type, approximate general location derived from IP (city/region level), and timestamps.
- Security / rate-limit data: identifiers used to limit abuse of consent, sign-in, or quote-request forms (Cloudflare KV rate limiting).
- Session cookies: an HTTP-only session cookie after you sign in with an email login code, so we can keep you signed in on this device.
We do not claim precise geolocation, advertising IDs, or social-login data.
Sources
- You (forms, email, phone).
- Public sources we may use to build a shop outreach list (for example publicly listed shop emails or phones) — outreach itself is separate from this Policy’s “use of the Site,” but any replies and consent records are covered here.
- Service providers that help us run the Service (see Sharing below).
2. How we use personal information
We use personal information to:
- Honor historical waitlist removal requests when you email us.
- Create and secure customer accounts (email login-code sign-in and sessions).
- Show you your quote-request history when you are signed in.
- Record and honor shop partner consent so we may contact opted-in shops about partnering on customer quote requests (including email and short disclosed AI / artificial-voice calls). We do not use SMS or text messages under shop partner consent.
- Fulfill customer quote requests by contacting shops that have opted in and returning quotes to the requester.
- Provide support, respond to questions, and process do-not-call / deletion requests.
- Secure the Site, prevent spam and abuse, and rate-limit forms.
- Comply with law, enforce our Terms, and protect rights and safety.
- Improve the Service using aggregated or de-identified information where practical.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not currently use personal information for interest-based advertising on the Site.
3. How we share personal information
We may share personal information with:
- Service providers that help us operate the Service, including:
- Cloudflare (hosting / Pages, DNS, Email Routing, D1 database storage, KV rate limiting).
- Email routing / inbox for [email protected] (messages forward per our Email Routing setup).
- Stripe for payment processing on paid quote requests (see https://stripe.com/privacy).
- Telecommunications / voice providers we engage to place disclosed AI or artificial-voice calls to opted-in shop numbers.
- Shop partners, when a customer quote request requires sharing limited job details needed to price the work (not a sale of personal information).
- Professional advisors (for example counsel) as needed.
- Authorities and others when we believe in good faith it is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or security.
- Business transferees in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or similar transaction.
We do not share personal information with advertising networks for interest-based ads on the Site, and we do not offer social login that would share data with social platforms for account linking.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
The Site may use strictly useful cookies or similar storage for security, load balancing, form abuse prevention, and signed-in sessions (HTTP-only session cookie after email login-code sign-in). We do not currently operate a separate Cookie Notice claiming analytics pixels or ad trackers. If that changes, we will update this Policy (and may add a Cookie Notice).
5. Retention
We keep personal information as long as needed for the purposes above, including:
- Historical waitlist emails until you ask to be removed.
- Account, session, and login-code security data for as long as needed to operate sign-in and prevent abuse (sessions expire; used codes are retained only as needed for security).
- Quote-request and payment metadata for as long as needed to fulfill requests, keep your history, and meet legal/accounting needs.
- Shop consent records and do-not-call lists for as long as needed to demonstrate consent and honor opt-outs (and longer if law requires).
- Security logs for a limited period appropriate to abuse prevention.
When we no longer need personal information, we delete, anonymize, or isolate it from further use where practical.
6. Your choices
- Historical waitlist removal: email [email protected] to be removed.
- Account deletion / export: email [email protected] from the address on the account. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
- Shop calls: say do-not-call, or email [email protected].
- Consent / listing updates: email [email protected] to change or remove listing details or withdraw consent (withdrawal does not undo prior lawful contacts already made).
- Access / correction / deletion requests: email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
- Do Not Track: we do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
Declining to provide required form fields may mean we cannot complete sign-in, consent, or a quote request.
7. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to a small early-stage service (including HTTPS and access-limited cloud storage). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children, and shop partner participation is for adults authorized to speak for a business. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have collected information from a child in a manner prohibited by law, contact [email protected] and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
9. International visitors
We are based in the United States (Arkansas). If you access the Site from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a revised effective date. Material changes may also be highlighted on the Site or emailed when we have your address. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you acknowledge the updated Policy.
11. Contact
Email: [email protected] Web: https://callaround.app Contact: email only for now ([email protected])
12. State privacy rights notice
Residents of certain U.S. states may have rights under state privacy laws (for example to know, access, correct, delete, or appeal), subject to exceptions and verification requirements.
- We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration.
- We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral / interest-based advertising on the Site as described in this draft.
- We do not use personal information for profiling that produces significant legal or similarly significant effects as described in many state laws.
- Sensitive personal information: we do not intentionally collect government IDs, precise geolocation, or payment card PANs. Phone numbers collected for shop consent / contact are used to contact opted-in shops as described, not to infer consumer characteristics for advertising.
To exercise rights that may apply to you, email [email protected] with enough detail for us to verify your identity and understand the request. Authorized agents may contact us the same way; we may require proof of authority.
Nevada: you may request that we not sell certain covered information; we do not currently engage in such sales. Email [email protected].
California “Shine the Light”: California residents may request certain information about disclosures to third parties for those parties’ direct marketing. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing in that sense. Requests: [email protected] with subject “Shine the Light Request,” your name, mailing address, and confirmation of California residency.
